Theme: “Education through active citizenship”
Period: 24 – 28 May 2021
Format:
Blended activity: the schools from Romania and Hungary face to face, the schools from France and England on line.
Participants:
-Liceul Tehnologic PETROL Moreni, Romania (face to face): 7 students and 2 teachers
-Lycée Antoine Roussin, Saint-Louis, France (online): 18 students and 3 teachers
-Scoala Gimnaziala Nr 1 Moreni, Romania (face to face): 5 students and 2 teachers
-SZIGNUM Mako, Hungary (the hosting school): 15 students and 2 teachers
-Bower Park Academy Romford, England (online): 5 students and 2 teachers
Content:
– Presentation of schools, participants and the five-day programme
– Presentation of the participants through a traditional song, poem or dance
– Presentations of the work made by each school on the topic of the meeting: volunteering activities in own school and community, drawings made in each school about active citizenship
– Workshop: how to use Canva for creating postcards
– Working at a final product: postcards with drawing and messages about volunteering and active citizenship
– Outdoor activities: cleaning of the banks of Mures river by the Romanian and Hungarian teams; cleaning of the beach by the French team; cleaning of the Bedford park by the English team
– ”Fair play and sport”: football match between the Romanian and Hungarian teams; French and English students saw live the match, via Internet
– documentation trip: sightseeing of some of the landmarks of Budapest and observing how the Hungarian families learn their kids to preserve their natural and historical heritage
– Presentation of the final products
– Evaluation of the activity through a questionnaire created with Google Forms
Results:
– tangible: postcards which was donated in the benefit of an NGO from Mako, photo album
– intangible: improved knowledge and skills about active citizenship, stereotypes and breaking the cultural barriers, fighting again discrimination, importance of volunteering, improved communication skills
